An Outdoor Wedding: What to Consider

Author: Stephen Mcclure

Many brides to be will seriously consider an outdoor ceremony. No matter the season, outside nuptials have become very popular. To make certain that the day unfolds without any mishaps, it is important to think about the pros and cons of an outdoor wedding.

One of the greatest advantages of having a ceremony outside will be the fabulous photos you will have to remember the day. Inviting friends and family to share your special day surrounded by the beauty of nature. The hues and shades of the outside provide a natural background. For large guest lists, an outside venue provides ample room to accommodate even children who may be attending.

Unfortunately, it can be difficult planning an outside ceremony. It is difficult to predict what the temperature will be on the day of the event when you are beginning the planning six months or a year in advance. Depending on the season and the region the weather may not be accommodating the day of the wedding.

It is a good idea to have a backup plan when planning outdoor nuptials. For instance, in case of rain, be prepared to use tents to move everything inside. If you are having the event at a Bed and Breakfast, check to see if there is a room indoors that will be large enough to move everyone inside if necessary.

You will also want to consider taking steps to eliminate the problem insects can pose. You want your guests to enjoy themselves without the pestering of insects. Providing insect repellent and setting out citronella candles will help provide a comfortable outside experience.

It is important to consider the comfort of your guests. You want them to remember you special day fondly instead of how uncomfortable they were. Make sure that the grounds are flat and even. Seating should be on level ground and the grounds should be even so that there is no chance of trips or falls. If your day is scheduled for the heat of the summer, consider installing misters around the area that will be set up for the ceremony.

It is important to think about any possible issue that can occur with an outside ceremony. Listing the pros and cons of an outdoor wedding is the best way to avoid any mishaps the day of the ceremony. Making a list of any issue that can come up and providing a solution is a way to make sure that the ceremony will take place without any problems.
